Active FX Non Surgical Procedure

As seen in Self, click here to view article.

Active FX is a non surgical procedure used to tighten the skin, smooth wrinkles, and even out skin tone, resulting in younger, healthier looking skin. The procedure is performed in a physician’s office, takes less than 30 minutes, and requires only one treatment with minimal recovery time. Active FX works by using fractional lasers to target specific areas of the skin on the face, neck, and chest. This approach reduces recovery time, and allows patients to get back to work and other daily activities as soon as possible.

Active FX treatments not only tighten the skin, but also stimulate continued post-treatment collagen production. The fractional laser technique utilized in the Active FX procedure also improves overall skin appearance by correcting uneven pigmentation and increasing the skin’s elasticity. Active FX treatment may be used to treat crow’s feet, frown lines, bags under the eyes, dyschromia (discoloration of the skin), acne scarring, and overall skin aging.

Patients should notice smoother, tighter skin immediately after recovery, with full results after 6 weeks, increased collagen production over time, and permanent results lasting up to 2 years. Active FX treatment is suitable for everyone from younger patients looking to even skin tone and texture to older patients looking to rejuvenate their skin, increase collagen production, and reduce signs of aging.

Although Active FX is a non surgical procedure, it does require 5-7 days for recovery. Over the course of a week, the surface skin will be replaced by newer, younger-looking skin. CFI patients undergoing Active FX rejuvenation will be advised of a daily skin care regimen to aid in the healing process. A follow up appointment will be scheduled to check on the progress of recovery and discuss returning to your daily skin care regimen, work, and other daily activities. Good candidates for this procedure are healthy men and women who are realistic in their expectations and are looking to target specific areas of the skin or multiple facial areas for smoothing, tightening, and long term rejuvenation.

Active FX may be combined with other non-surgical treatments, including injectables, peels, or laser skin resurfacing to achieve desired results. If combining this procedure with injectable fillers, such as Restylane, collagen, Juvederm, or Radiesse, allow time for Active FX treatment to fully heal before scheduling subsequent procedures. Schedule an appointment with our office for a consultation to discuss your best treatment options.

Laser Face Lifts – Minimizing downtime, Maximizing Results

Recent medical advances have resulted in excellent non-surgical options to treat and rejuvenate aging and damaged skin. Photorejuvenation can reduce brown “age spots” and vascular damage. However, photorejuvenation and many other “no downtime” treatments cannot provide results that improve wrinkles by tightening the skin. Skin tightening is a crucial step in fighting the aging process. Laser skin resurfacing provides this solution with minimal downtime.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

The goal of laser skin resurfacing is simple: replace damaged skin with new, fresh skin. The latest laser skin resurfacing technology allows nearly everyone to achieve a “close to flawless” complexion.

ActiveFX “fractional” Laser Skin Resurfacing

The Active FX laser by Lumenis can perform light, moderate, or deep laser skin resurfacing in a single treatment with minimal patient downtime. During the procedure, a high-energy laser beam smoothes out all types of skin irregularities -- lines, wrinkles, scars, brown spots, and spider veins. This laser stimulates formation of new collagen which will continue improvement even after the procedure is done. With fractional laser treatment, only a fraction of the skin’s surface is treated by the laser. This leaves small “bridges” of untouched skin, resulting in a faster healing process and allowing patients to return to normal activities more quickly. ActiveFX results can last for several years with proper sun protection. Initial results are visible quickly
