JUVEDERM ®

Juvederm is an injectable filler that can be used to treat the skin of the face, filling in wrinkles, deep lines, and adding fullness to the lips with fast and natural looking results. Similar to Restylane, Juvederm is made of hyaluronic acid. This compound naturally occurs in the body and stimulates collagen production. Treatment is effective, and very fast because it can be performed in the clinic. Because hyaluronic acid naturally occurs in the body, the results are natural, and everybody will notice a difference, but no one will be able to tell how!

Although Juvederm treatment is non surgical, and can be performed in office, a mild anesthetic may be used to ease the minimal discomfort associated with the procedure. This procedure is done using small gauge needles, which target the desired treatment area(s), with one of two concentrations of hyaluronic acid: Juvedern Ultra ™ and Juvederm Ultra Plus ™. After injecting the targeted area, the physician will massage the solution into the skin in order to achieve maximum results. This FDA approved treatment generates immediate results lasting from 6 months up to 1 year, making Juvederm the longest lasting FDA approved hyaluronic acid injectable filler on the market.

Juvederm is a minimally invasive non surgical procedure. Patients can expect to return to work and other daily activities immediately after treatment. As with any injectable treatment, patients may experience some redness, swelling, and tenderness after the procedure, but these side effects are normal and typically subside within a few days. Ideal candidates for this procedure include healthy men and women who are realistic in their expectations and are looking to give their skin a subtle, youthful, and rejuvenated appearance without surgery. Due to the nature of the treatment, patients with severe allergies, particularly to bacterial proteins, may not be good candidates for Juvederm.

Juvederm, like other injectable fillers, may also be combined with other procedures to achieve desired results, including non surgical injectables such as Botox Cosmetic and peels with little to no added recovery time.
